I get that question a lot. And that’s the worst way to find an agent. Here’s why…
What if I told you, “I’ve got a house you can buy for $500,000.” Would you want to buy it??? Or do you need to know about it first? (Perhaps it’s a dilapidated crack-house in a bad area…or an oceanfront home in La Jolla.)
The same logic goes with choosing an agent. You need to know the other side of the equation–what you’re getting for their fee.
I know some agents who advertise a 1 or 2% fee, but are grossly overcharging for their poor service. And I know other skilled pros who are a bargain at 6%.
There are three crucial keys to choosing a good agent to sell your home are:
1. You’re comfortable with them
