Question:
“I plan to sell my house As Is. I don’t want to fix anything. If the buyer insists on repairs, they can buy another house…”
Answer:
I understand where you’re coming from. Ultimately, you’re looking for the best possible outcome from your home sale.
With that in mind…
When I represent a client selling a home or other property, unless they sold for the lower range of value, I recommend they be open to making (or better yet, crediting for) some sensible repairs.
As my fabulous team member Gloria of 17 years used to say, “A new buyer means a new list.”
Meaning…
If you lose a buyer because you won’t make or credit for a few needed repairs, the next buyer is likely going to have their own list of repairs. It may be smaller, or bigger. So you might as well deal with it now and reach a reasonable agreement with the buyer you have.
