Question:
“I’m planning to sell my home and am deciding if I want to list with a solo agent or a successful team. I think the team idea is a good one and I’d get more action. But I’m concerned that a team may be impersonal and I may be forgotten. Your opinion?”
Answer:
Before I answer you, I should tell you that I do the team approach.
That being said…it may surprise you to know that I share the same concerns you do about hiring a team.
Some real estate teams are great, while others are a mess and provide terrible service.
On the other hand, the same can be said about solo agents.
What I will say is this: a good, organized, successful team will almost always provide you better results than a solo agent can.
Why?
It’s so rare to find one extraordinary individual with the varied skill set (and the time)! to do all the duties well:
- Marketing
- Fielding phone calls
- Selling
- Negotiating
- Contracts
- Communicating
- Paperwork
- Follow-up on all the details
- Etc.
So my biased advice, which is proven by the explosive growth of the “team model” in real estate, is that you’re better off with a good, successful team.
Heck, I even know one you might want to talk to!
