Question:
“We got a contractor’s bid of $24,000 to put in new cherry finish cabinets and granite counter tops in the kitchen and both baths, plus a new range/oven. Do you think that’s a good investment and we would get more than the $24,000 back if we do these things?”
Answer:
The $24,000 sounds like a good price for all that work. And you should get much more than the $24,000.
From experience, I can tell you the cost will go up when you start adding in a new sink, other new appliances, possibly a backsplash, toilets, and/or flooring, plus other things that will just make sense to do when you’re doing the counter and cabinets.
So be ready to spend more like $25,000 to $30,000+.
