Have you received a letter in the mail lately that’s from someone who wants to buy your home? You might be wondering if this is a scam or if this truly is someone who wants to buy your home.
Well, the vast majority of these letters are from investors that are looking to purchase your home. They will often pay cash, but they will only pay about 80% of what your home is actually worth. This may be good if you’re trying to sell your home quickly, but I would advise against this for most sellers.
The other letters are coming from real estate agents who might say they have someone who wants to buy your home, but it’s very likely that they actually don’t have a buyer for your home. They will want you to say that you’d like to sell your home, and then they offer to list it for you in order to gain business. This is basically just a lead-generation strategy.
Overall, I would be very careful with these letters. Most of the time they are bogus, and even if they aren’t they’re not going to help you sell for top dollar.
