How to Pick the Right Real Estate Agent in San Diego
When you’re shopping around for a real estate agent, you’ll notice that they all charge different commissions for selling your home. Conventional wisdom would tell you that a lower fee is a better deal, but this is not always the case.
The fee an agent charges is what it is for a reason. You’re hiring someone to negotiate for you, and someone to market your home. You might hire an agent with a 5% commission compared to a 7% commission, but that agent may charge 5% because he or she is less skilled.
Another reason why a higher rate may be better is a part of those percentages are used to market your home. In this case, you’ll be losing out on money used to market your home, which could result in a lower selling price.
I’ve found that better agents tend to charge more, and weaker agents tend to charge less. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you need assistance buying or selling a home in San Diego, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I would be very happy to help you!
