Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Friends and Clients,
I write you today about the major Fed decision to raise interest rates and the recent wild stock market selloffs and volatility.
You won’t see the cost of mortgages rise much now. It’s only a 0.25% hike. But if rates continue their rise, it can only become more expensive to buy a home.
The stock market drop is interesting, and unfortunate if you own stocks. It could decrease wealth (and with it funds to buy a home) and/or cause a run to other “safer” assets, such as real estate.
And if you’re thinking of selling this year or next, here’s how this affects you now:
Your home will sell for its maximum price in 2016.
That’s according to many experts. The market is hot right now and hopefully will continue that way into spring.
Why is it so hot now?
Because of the shortage of homes for sale in San Diego. We call that “low inventory.” Have you heard the term?
With the low inventory, homebuyers are motivated to make offers and buy homes, with the added motivation to get ahead of the inevitable future interest rate hikes.
All this generates lots of demand for your home now.
As you may know, home prices in most neighborhoods went up considerably in 2015 and there’s a strong chance your home did too.
I recommend you check the current market value of your home.
I pay for access to all the local “MLS” data and you can get it for free on my website.
