Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Today, I’m going to share another story from my experience in real estate. Some time ago, I was in Pacific Beach. Back then I had signs on my car that had my real estate team and my name on it. I was on Burl Street and a fellow in a VW Bug was roaring down the street. He saw me, got out, and said, “Hey man, I want to buy a house.”
We started chatting, and I asked a few normal real estate questions. How are you going to finance this? How much do you have to put down? His response was, “I’ve been playing the lottery, and I’m about due, so that’s where I’m going to get my money.”
That was his real answer! I’m not joking. I have to confess; I never called this gentleman back. I’m not so sure he would have been able to afford a home. The lesson: don’t count on the lottery if you want to buy a house.
