Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Today we are going to answer a question we get asked all the time, “How long will it take to sell my home?” My answer is that it depends on the kind of market you’re in. The answers are different, depending on if you are in a hot market, medium market, or cold market.
If you’re in a hot market, it could take anywhere from just a few hours to a few days, assuming everything is done right. What we mean by that is that your house is priced reasonably and you have a good agent working for you. If your home takes more than a few weeks to sell in a hot market, something’s not right. Either the price or the agent is wrong.
In a medium (average) market, it’s probably going to take a few weeks if everything is done right. If you’re in a cold market, it could take up to 60 days even if you have a good agent and are priced right.
Now, if you have a very high-end home in San Diego, one that’s worth more than $1 million, it may take a little longer than 60 days. There just aren’t as many buyers in that price range.
