Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
It’s time yet again for another edition of Storytime with Gary, where I share an interesting, funny, or strange story that I’ve experienced in my many years in real estate.
Years ago, an agent I know well was holding an open house. She wasn’t selling the home, an agent she knew and worked with was, so she was holding the open house in order to help out. When she showed up to the house, the door was locked and she couldn’t get the key to work for some reason. She went around the back and entered through the slider.
When she walked into the home, she found that it was an absolute mess. She couldn’t believe it: there were dishes everywhere and laundry laying on the ground. Fortunately, she arrived early enough to do the dishes, put the laundry away, and tidy up the rest of the house. She then put a sign in the yard, held the open house, and went back to the office at the end of the day.
“
THE AGENT WENT TO THE WRONG HOUSE, CLEANED
IT UP, AND HELD IT OPEN!
”
A little while later, the agent who was selling the house asked her why she didn’t show up and do the open house. She said that she did, she went to 1234 Oak Street and held it open. The other agent responded that the address was actually 1134 Oak Street. It turned out that the agent had gone to the wrong house, cleaned it up, and held it open!
This is a wild, but completely true story. If you’re thinking about selling, we’ll be sure not to go to your neighbor’s house and hold it open! We’ll help you accomplish your selling goals with the least amount of stress imaginable.
