Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
How do showings work when you’re selling your San Diego home? This topic comes up all the time, and it’s an important one to be informed about if you want to accomplish your selling goals.
It’s really important to have your home as available to be shown as possible. There are some agents that, under the guise of giving their clients the best possible service, make it harder for a home to be shown. Making it difficult for people to see your home is not the best way to do it.
Typically, real estate agents from various companies will be showing your home, not just the agent you hired. Statistically, it’s about 10 times more likely that another agent will bring the buyer for your home than the listing agent you hired.
Communication about showings varies from agent to agent. In some cases, real estate agents will call the occupant directly. In other cases, the occupant will call our office and we’ll set the appointment, which is not usually the best way to set up showings. We use a service for some of our clients that is available 24-hours a day, where agents can call the service to request a showing time; the service will then reach the occupant to inform them of the time and confirm whether it works. This has actually proven to be a pretty effective system.
