Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Should you sell your home during the holidays?
Every year around September 1st, I listen for the first person to tell me that they’re hesitant about selling their house with the holidays coming up. Here’s the thing—if you live in Alaska or Minnesota, for example, the holidays and wintertime can be a tough time to sell. However, we live in San Diego, and in my 32 years here, I’ve seen one single light blanket of light snow. We don’t really have the weather to cause a major slowdown in our market.
“Look at the macro picture.”
We may lose a little bit of that edge, and Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks are a bit slow, but I always tell people to look at the macro picture. In San Diego, the big movements in the market will take precedence over the holidays. I’ve seen plenty of busy Novembers and busy Decembers during my career. You can still see a very good market for the rest of the season.
If you have any questions or you’re thinking about selling your home this winter, give me a call or send me an email. I’d be happy to help.
