Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Welcome back to Story Time with Gary! Today I’ve got another tale from my time in real estate that you won’t believe.
About 25 years ago, I knocked on a gentleman’s door. He knew me and guessed that I wanted him to sell his house. He told me that he wouldn’t sell unless I “could get him $300,000” for his house, and he laughed it off.
It just so happened that I had a nice young couple who really wanted to buy a house and would have been happy to pay $300,000 for it. I told the gentleman that I did, in fact, have someone who would pay $300,000 for his house.
“He went from laughing to stone-faced.”
He went from laughing to stone-faced, then said he wanted to talk to his wife. I called him the next day and sure enough, he sold the house to the nice young couple.
The moral of the story is that prices have gone up to extremely high numbers, so don’t laugh at any numbers—you might be able to sell your house for much more than you think.
If you’re thinking about selling your house or you’d like to know what you could sell for in today’s San Diego market, give me a call or send me an email soon. I’d love to help you out!
