You’ve listed your home for sale and received an offer. Congrats! However, there’s still one key thing you need to do, and if you don’t, you’ll regret it.

I’d say that about 80% of buyers now want to see a pest control report or termite clearance when shopping for homes. I even see some people agree to termite clearances without even knowing the cost. One time years ago, we had a termite clearance bid of about $160,000. Can you imagine if that owner had agreed to sell the house with that clearance without first getting that report?

That’s why it’s such a good idea to get that report performed even before you agree to give clearance. The average pest control estimate is around $2,000, but it can vary a whole lot.
