This may or may not apply to you, but if you are selling your home and you have older furniture that you don’t plan on taking to your new house, try buying the new furniture before you move.
This seems backward, but if you update your furniture before you move, then you can use that new furniture to stage your house while it’s on the market. This also saves you thousands of dollars in staging your home with rented furniture that a staging expert would move into your home temporarily.
