What is the most unique place you have ever stayed? I’m guessing if you had stayed at the Dog Bark Park Inn, it would be on your list! This 30 foot high beagle (Sweet Willy) can hold 4, a smaller 12 foot beagle (Toby) stands nearby. Opened by husband and wife team Dennis and Frances in 2003, the Inn harkens back to the days when tourists would see sights such as this along the roadside.
Dennis has been creating chainsaw art for over thirty years, Frances joined him in the business twenty-two years ago. In 1995 their art was featured on QVC and they spend a busy 18 months rapidly producing work. Using the proceeds from that time they founded and began developing Dog Bark Park and have been running it ever since.
Their art has also been featured on places like HGTV, the Ellen Show, Today Show, CNN.com, and the Washington Post.
Guests are able to stay from April 1st to October 31st. The cost per night is $144 for 4 people. Beyond the novelty of staying in what may be the world’s largest beagle, visitors can also enjoy a gift shop featuring more of Dennis and Frances’ chainsaw artwork, and local activities such as hiking, river rafting, craft beer, wine tastings, and visiting hot springs.
