Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Don’t be the helpful seller. What do I mean by that?
Well, let me explain. Today, I’d like to talk about a mistake that some sellers in our market are guilty of making.
When people come through their door, some sellers will drag them through the house and point out each and every little thing they’ve done to improve or change the property.
This kind of approach can come off as extremely pushy, and will usually have the opposite of the desired effect. It also doesn’t allow buyers to browse at their own pace or voice any opinions or objections they may have.
“You’ll help yourself more by not being the helpful seller.”
Loose lips sink ships. You don’t want to tell the buyer too much about your situation. This could sink your deal.
Ideally, you should either be gone or out of the way when your home is being shown. Allow your agent to be the one engaging with buyers. You’ll help yourself more by not being the helpful seller.
If you have any other questions or would like more information, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
