Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
The year is nearly over. Can you believe it? Let’s talk about 2017 today and do a year in review for San Diego real estate.
This year started as a hot seller’s market from at least January through July. Come August and September, the market became a little more balanced and that’s where it remains now.
One thing I’ve heard from fellow agents recently is “If it’s not compelling, it’s not selling” and “If it’s compelling, it’s selling.” Basically, this means buyers are a little bit more particular now than they used to be. If a home has some kind of flaw, like on a busy street, no garage, or needs heavy repairs, it’s a little bit harder to sell at this time.
On the flip side, if a home is marketed right and priced right, it tends to sell pretty quickly and for a good price no matter the time of year.
If you’re thinking of buying or selling a home in 2018 or still in 2017, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. If we don’t talk before, have a happy new year!
