Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
I bet you didn’t know this about your cosmetologist or your barber.
In California, a cosmetologist is required to have 1,600 hours of work experience and/or study to get their license, and a barber needs 1,500 hours of study or work as an apprentice.
Even your manicurist needs 400 hours in order to get their license, so thank goodness that the people doing your hair and nails have been fully vetted and trained.
“Make sure your agent has experience and a proven track record, not just their license.”
On the other hand, real estate agents technically need 145 hours to get their license. In reality, they only need 39 hours.
The point is to make sure that the person you are going to work with to buy or sell a home doesn’t just have their license. Make sure they have experience. Make sure they have a good track record, that they’re on a good team, etc.
I’ve been in real estate for 33 years, which is quite a bit more than 39 hours. If you are looking for an experienced agent or you have any real estate questions, just give me a call. I would love to talk to you.
