A growing number of homeowners are putting surveillance equipment in their home for showings. Here is what you need to know about this as a homebuyer.
Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
Here is something you should know when you walk through a home for sale that you may not be aware of. Channel 10 recently interviewed me about this topic, and I wanted to discuss it with you today.
There is a certain percentage of homeowners who are using surveillance equipment in their homes so that they can monitor showings. Most are using them for security purposes. However, some are using them to see the reactions of prospective buyers.
“Save your true thoughts for the ride home.”
The bottom line is that you should always keep your poker face on during your home tour. Do not walk in and raise your arms up in jubilation. It might cost you a lot when you start negotiating for a home if a seller knows you are in love with it.
Talk in a low voice, keep calm, and save your true thoughts for the ride home. It is always better not to reveal your motivation to the homeowner, just in case they are watching.
If you have any questions for me about this topic or about anything else relating to the San Diego real estate market, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
