Located near Poitiers, France the Futuroscope holds true to its name. Opened in 1987 the park’s theme is all things futuristic. It contains 3D, 4D, and even holographic attractions over nearly 150 acres.
Architect Denis Laming created the designs. Viewing them today, we receive an interesting look at what the future was thought to be.
The park has received over 50 million visitors and was the first amusement park in France. In it’s Dances With Robots ride, visitors are held 23 feet in the air by a giant robot hand while they groove to techno music. To close the day, Cirque Du Soleil performs each night.
Tickets are currently about $46–$52 each and the park is open most of the year.
