Question:
“I’ve been looking and looking for a 3-bedroom 2-bath house in a nice area within a mile of the coast for around $400,000. My agent tells me I need to look for a condo, but I don’t want a condo. Any suggestions?”
Answer:
Do you want to hear what you want to hear, or what you NEED to hear?
Unless there’s a drastic change in the market or you win the homebuying lottery, what you want is not going to happen. At least not in San Diego.
So I recommend you make a change. It could be:
- Raise your budget to more like $550,000, if possible.
- Be open to living further inland.
- Make peace with the thought of buying a condo. Many people own them and are quite happy.
Hope that helps!
