Buying a San Diego home? Search all homes for sale
If you are a homeowner in San Diego, you probably get a letter in the mail every few weeks from someone who wants to buy your home. Sometimes it’s an individual, sometimes it’s an investor group. Sometimes it seems like these letters were sent to you specifically, but they weren’t.
The truth is that the people who do this send hundreds, sometimes thousands of letters per week. They are simply casting a wide net. They have no interest in paying you market value for your home either. Not even close.
“They aren’t worth your time.”
I’ve known a few people who have reached out to these investors. One woman had a home that was worth about $500,000. The investor offered to buy her home for $360,000. Another client of mine had a home worth $900,000. He was offered $675,000 by one investor and $900,000 by another. He thought he might be getting a good deal, but I already knew that he wasn’t. Sure enough, the deal fell through because the buyer backed out.
The bottom line is that if you get a letter like this, it’s from people who are fishing to find a steal. They aren’t worth your time and their letters aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.
