Real estate can throw some curveballs, but these bats hit a home run nonetheless.
A few years back, an agent I knew visited a foreclosed home.
Most of the time, foreclosures have already been vacated, but this one was still occupied. It wasn’t occupied by the previous owner, however…
It was occupied by bats!
Oddly enough, these bats were allowed to stay indefinitely. They were endangered, and the local government agency deemed the house to be their “natural habitat”; nobody was allowed to make them leave.
All the bank could do was go in, open all the windows, and wait for the bats to get out of there. It took days, months, maybe years—but eventually, they vacated, and the bank was able to sell the home.
