What’s Cool About Normal Heights San Diego
The area is known for being highly pedestrian-friendly; residents often enjoy a stroll along Adams Ave. or El Cajon Blvd., which are also the best places to look for dining and shopping for local homeowners. A western part of the region known as Antique Row contains several excellent antique stores. Ward Canyon Park and Adams Recreation Center have playgrounds and sports facilities, so children in Normal Heights schools always have something to do. Normal Heights also hosts three major events each year: the Art Around Adams art fair, and two major music celebrations: the Roots Festival and the Adams Avenue Street Fair. Other nearby attractions include Balboa Park’s zoo and museums to the south and Mission Valley’s extensive shopping to the north.
Normal Heights has the 8, 15, and 805 freeways all nearby to easily access the rest of San Diego. The region’s population tends to be single young to middle-aged adults. The area’s tasteful residences display a wide variety of architecture, and often have sweeping views of canyons and the Mission Valley area. Overall, Normal Heights is a great centrally located community that has plenty of exciting activities to offer. By Gary Kent
