Tierrasanta
Tierrasanta, known as “The Island in the Hills,” is a family community known for its serenity and natural beauty. Originally, it was purchased by the U.S. Military to be used as Marine training facilities. Later it was transferred to the Navy, and then deactivated and sold to the City of San Diego. The formation of Tierrasanta still influences some of the activities found here today. Every year, the community holds a major event, “The Tierrafest.” Held on Armed Forces Day, locals can enjoy the Patriot’s Day Parade, and then experience excellent shopping, enjoyable games and other family activities.
