Rancho Santa Fe is a very wealthy residential neighborhood in northern San Diego. The area has a warm climate and gently rising and falling green hills filled with orange and eucalyptus groves. Though located slightly inland, the region is still only a few miles from the wonderful beaches in Solana Beach and Cardiff by the Sea.

What’s Cool About Rancho Santa Fe

The area is tranquil, consisting mostly of large and lavish dwellings, but is also home to several top-quality golf courses such as Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course and The Bridges. Just outside its borders to the northeast lie two gorgeous locales: Lake Hodges is ideal for fishing and swimming, while Del Dios Highlands Reserve offers gorgeous views for hikers, bikers and horseback riders. To the southwest lie the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack, which provide a variety of entertainment and nightlife. And for when residents want to dine like royalty, Mille Fleurs is perhaps the best option in San Diego for succulent French and Californian cuisine.

Rancho Santa Fe is a bit removed from the bustle of more urban San Diego neighborhoods, but the Interstate 5 is located close by to the west. The population tends to affluent, well-educated and married, including a high proportion of retirees. Many are in the finance or real estate businesses, and some work from home. The area boasts spacious homes that are situated on large plots of land and often contain four or more bedrooms.
