Escondido
Escondido is found in the North Inland area of San Diego County at the intersection of I-15 and the 78. The city is home to many distinct neighborhoods, like the quiet residential Felicita and the more commercially-oriented Vineyard. The downtown area is the site of the California Center for the Arts, many great restaurants, and in the nice weather of April to September the locals come out for “Cruisin’ Grand” as parades of collectible cars cruise down Grand Avenue.

What’s Cool About Escondido
At the south end of town there is Kit Carson Park and the North County Fair Shopping Mall. One of the latest additions to the Escondido skyline is the newly-built Palomar Medical Center. The northern and eastern areas are surrounded by citrus and avocado groves. To the east you’ll also find the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which places exotic animals in a more open natural habitat. As its name (Spanish for “hidden”) suggests, Escondido is a bit removed from much of San Diego, but it still offers plenty to do in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
