Sorrento Valley
Sorrento Valley is a small business-oriented community that is built on series of hills and canyons and located a bit north of urban San Diego. Due to UCSD’s position near its western border, several major technology corporations, including Qualcomm, Sony, and Texas Instruments, have offices in the area.

What’s Cool About Sorrento Valley
The Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve that runs along the neighborhood’s northern rim is ideal for hiking and discovering local wildlife. The Miramar Village and Plaza Sorrento shopping centers feature a wide range of stores and restaurants. Wine tastings and classes are offered at the WineSellar, while the Opera Patisserie serves up French cuisine and delicious desserts. Residents can hit the green at Miramar Golf Course in the area’s southeast corner or practice at the Sorrento Canyon Golf Center. And though Sorrento Valley isn’t quite on the coast, it’s still just a few minutes away from some of San Diego’s best beaches and the scenic Torrey Pines State Park.
Sorrento Valley is located between the 5 and 805 Freeways and has a coaster station to easily travel anywhere from Oceanside to Downtown. Residents are very well-educated, as they are often UCSD students or graduates who have taken a technology-related job. The neighborhood’s large, highly modern canyon-view homes are perfect for those who want an advanced career while retaining a soothing rustic environment. By Gary Kent
