Paradise Hills
Paradise Hills is a simple, primarily residential community in southeast San Diego. Its terrain is composed of beautiful hills and canyons, and some areas even have a view of the ocean and San Diego Bay. The region has a down-to-earth atmosphere that provides a nice alternative to the constant activity of surrounding neighborhoods, and it contains good schools, especially in the arts. The climate is fairly stable year round, with the average temperature varying between 57 and 72 degrees.

What’s Cool About Paradise Hills
While the neighborhood may be modest, there are still plenty of activities for families to enjoy. The local parks and recreation centers are great for a game of baseball or a picnic, and Charles Lewis Skate Park provides ramps and rails to make use of. Plans are also being made for the expansion of Paradise Hills’ branch of the San Diego Public Library. Close by in Chula Vista is a municipal golf course where residents can practice their swing. Authentic Mexican cuisine at places like Rolando’s Taco Shop can also be found scattered through the community due to its location just a few miles north of the border.
Paradise Hills is located to the north of Chula Vista and just to the east of National City. It has inexpensive prices for rental properties, including many that are well below $1,000 a month. The nearby 54 and 805 freeways running make commuting easy, so most residents travel by car. The community has a high proportion of married couples and children, and most local employment is found in sectors like education/health and public administration. Overall, Paradise Hills is a refreshingly diverse San Diego community and a highly affordable place to live. By Gary Kent
